choosewm software package provides fake x-session-manager allowing the user to choose a wm, you can install in your Debian 9 (Stretch) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install choosewm
choosewm is installed in your system.
Make ensure the choosewm package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep choosewm *
You will get with choosewm package name, version, architecture and description in a table
